FILTERS COMPARISON
CONVENTIONAL AIR FILTERS VS. TOTACHI FILTERS:
1.
TOTACHI air filters employ only high quality airtight seal
Conventional air filter
Rigid sealing frame, burrs: loose fit in the air filter enclosure, which entails air leaks bypassing the air filter.

TOTACHI air filter.
Tight fit of the enclosure without air leaks.

2.
TOTACHI air filters have additional stiffeners
Conventional air filter
No or a small number of stiffeners: deformed filter enclosure, ruptures of the filter material, leakage of unfiltered air flow.
img
TOTACHI air filter.
Additional stiffening rib to strengthen the structure.

3.
TOTACHI air filters enjoy increased filter surface area
Conventional air filter
Small filter surface area: the filter will quickly lose its throughput

TOTACHI air filter.
More screens providing greater throughput.

4.
High-quality material placement in TOTACHI air filters
Regular air filter
There may be deformation of the filter curtains, which will lead to rupture of the filter material.

Always high-quality pleats, helping to maintain the integrity of the structure.

5.
All TOTACHI air filters are heat treated
Conventional air filter
No heat treatment: moisture is quickly absorbed. Filter screens stick together, tear, and the air filter quickly fails.

Heat treatment prevents the accumulation of moisture on the filter surface.

When is it necessary to replace the air filter?
The frequency of replacing the air filter is specified in the vehicle’s service book.
But if the car is operated in adverse weather conditions, then it is better to replace the filter more frequently.
It is still OK!!! I'll just purge it with air, and it will be like new!

Many car owners, trying to save money, resort to various tricks:

  • Purging the filter with compressed air: this way you can get rid of only surface dirt; all other dirt parts will remain in the filter material.
  • Rinsing or even washing the air filter: the synthetic material will lose its filtering properties, and the cellulose material may simply rupture.

A dirty filter always reduces the air flow capacity, and the engine will have to spend additional energy on air intake, which will contribute to increased fuel consumption. Therefore, replace filters regularly!
